Spreading scientific knowledge about the earth and introducing new technology. NASA's main objective has always been to achieve full mission Apollo program. The one that was produced till the end of 1960 was till the moon was filled and was the first empty boat .Neel Armstrong was the first astronaut to fly on the moon.
What I know about the solar system and its future is that it is trying to make new advances in air travel and other aspects of the universe. Apart from being a big machine, NASA is a very different agency. All the science is done here.
